Jellyfin is free and works on almost everything. Pick your device:

iPhone & iPad
Search the App Store for "Jellyfin Mobile" (or "Swiftfin").
Android phone & tablet
Search Google Play for "Jellyfin".
Android TV, Google TV & Fire TV
Search your TV's app store for "Jellyfin".
Apple TV
Search the App Store for "Swiftfin".
Roku
Add the Jellyfin channel from the Roku Channel Store.
LG & Samsung TVs
Look for Jellyfin in your TV's app store. Availability depends on the model.
Computer
Nothing to install: open the server address in Chrome, Edge, Firefox, or Safari. A desktop app is available too.

App stores change over time. The official download page always has the latest list: jellyfin.org/downloads.

Request an account
  1. Press the button and fill in the form.
  2. Choose a username: letters and numbers, no spaces.
  3. You will be DM'ed your login details as well as the URL for the server to enter into Jellyfin.

Never type a password into the form. Nobody here will ever ask for yours. You'll get a temporary one privately, and you change it the first time you sign in.

You log in with your Jellyfin account using Quick Connect, so there's no new password to remember.

Tips & house rules
  • TV sign-in: choose Quick Connect on the TV, get a short code, and approve it from the app on your phone.
  • Server address: include https:// at the start when the app asks for it.
  • Video buffering? Lower the quality in the player's settings. Big 4K files can be heavy on a slow connection.
  • Keep it private: don't share your login or the server address with anyone outside the group.
  • Be kind: it's a shared library. If something won't play or you'd like a title added, just ask.
